As you decide on being a doctor for your future career, you must first get into Medical School. When deciding on becoming a physician you must understand that it is a long and hard process that can take 8 years or longer before you are able to practice medicine. After you find that this is the path you want to take, you must apply to college for undergraduate school. From there you will pick a major and fallow through the steps of your major. Many colleges don’t have a Pre-Med major, so you will choose something very close to it, such as Human Biology or Physiology. You will take many science and math classes through your undergraduate time. This is to prepare you for the MCAT.

You will take many science and math classes through your undergraduate time. This is to prepare you for the MCAT.
The MCAT stands for Medical College Admission Test, which is
a standardized test that test your ability of science and math that is required
to know when in Medical school. This test is hard and can cause you to lose
your chance of getting into Medical school. Medical Schools count your score as
70% of getting into their college. The rest goes towards GPA and volunteer
work.
After take the MCAT and receiving a good score, you will have
to apply to Medical Schools. The AMCAS (American Medical College Application
Service), AACOMAS (American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine
Application Service) and the TMDSAS (Texas Medical and Dental School
Application Service) are 3 of the Medical School application services in the
U.S. After applying through one of those applications you will receive secondary
applications that you must fill out and return. The secondary applications cost
money to submit ($40-$120+). With both of these done you will be requested for
interviews by the Medical Schools that are interested in accepting you.
There is a lot to do between getting into college and
getting into Medical School. But study and work hard to make the MCAT and
Medical School possible.
