About the Team

Our team is composed of five Michigan State University first-year students, including four Human Biology majors with a pre-med focus and one Animal Science major with a pre-vet focus. This blog will explore all corners of the medical field, including, but not limited to: patient care, triage, physiology, and anatomy. We hope you enjoy our extensive exploration of the medical field!

Here is a short bio from each of our members:

Currently, I am working on obtaining a degree in Human Biology from Michigan State University, go green! My dream is to someday become a pediatric surgeon, I love kids and have always found it easy to interact with children. The joy I find in helping others and the passion I have for science has led me to pursue an interest in the medical field. Some other interests I have are painting, biking, and traveling. I am not exactly sure where I want to attend medical school yet, but I would like to eventually end up somewhere on the East Coast.

I always knew that I wanted to go into the medical field. When I was four I wanted to be a vet, but as I got older I became more interested in Human Medicine. Now as freshman in college, at the school that I have wanted to attend for years, I am working my way to Michigan State's College of Human Medicine. I want to become a doctor with a focus in Sports Medicine. I would love to get a job with a Hockey team and help athletes with injuries and how to prevent them.

Ever since I was old enough to speak I've always wanted to attend MSU. My grandpa went here for veterinary medicine after he returned from the navy during WWII. My initial interest in the medical field started with him and grew as I became older. The class anatomy and physiology in high school really opened up the idea of going into this profession. The end goal is med school, becoming an orthopedic surgeon, and having my own practice.

Outgoing, outdoorsy, and adventurous are the terms that describe me best as a person. I love to be outside for any reason! I have been running rodeo and barrel racing since the age of 5 and it is my biggest hobby. Throughout grade school I participated in 4H, Future Farmers of America, lacrosse, and the equestrian team. Being a part of these clubs and teams have shaped me into a well rounded student and person who is willing to try anything at least once! I am pursuing a degree in large animal veterinary medicine and hope to open a private practice after I graduate.

I have always had a fascination with the human body and medicine. This came mainly because I was following in the footsteps of my father, who is also in the medical field. Combining this with my enthusiasm with sports, it was an easy choice to want to pursue a career in sports medicine. My end goal is to become an orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in sports medicine. How I get there; I have no idea to be honest. Hopefully I will end up going to medical school at UCLA, as I have always dreamt of going there.
